Volunteers are an integral part of the VSCPA. By volunteering with us, you'll gain additional leadership experience, forge new friendships and give back to the profession with your time and expertise. No matter your interest or expertise, we have several ways for you to get involved!
Whether you’re looking to volunteer year round or on an as needed basis, our new volunteer management system will help you find the right opportunity for you. Follow these three steps to get signed up! And check out this instructional video on how to get started.
1. Opt in to the VSCPA volunteer pool
Being part of the VSCPA volunteer pool means you are interested in learning about future volunteer opportunities. Opting in is easy! With one click, you’ll be added to our pool of volunteers and will receive an email alert as new opportunities open up that match your qualifications and interests.

2. Update your volunteer profile
Complete your Volunteer Profile so we can let you know about future volunteer opportunities that you might be interested in.
3. Search and sign up for open volunteer opportunities
Check out and sign up for our current volunteer opportunities by clicking on the Volunteer Opportunities List. Each volunteer opportunity is assigned a point value, and once you’ve earned 500, 1,000 and 3,500 points, you’ll receive a volunteer badge, which will be listed on your Connect profile.
- Distinguished Volunteer Badge = 500 volunteer points
- Ambassador Volunteer Badge = 1000 volunteer points
- Presidential Volunteer Badge = 3500 volunteer points
If you volunteer between May 1, 2018 – April 30, 2019, you will be invited to attend the Leaders’ Summit on May 16–17, 2019 in Richmond. This free, invitation-only conference is open exclusively to VSCPA volunteers and other leaders to provide essential training and information to help you lead our organization into the future.
